Blooming marvellous -170th Annual Flower & Veg Show

It was so great to see the annual show back. This event, steeped in history, had horticultural enthusiasts of all ages joined in the first 'face-to-face' gathering for three years. With 127 classes and many trophies, there was something for everyone.


Despite frequent reports on the news of a drought, here on the west coast of Scotland we have had a wet summer, which has its own problem for gardeners. Some vegetables have flourished, but other plants and flowers have struggled - for example I am only just picking ripe tomatoes! So despite this, we were delighted by the number of entries - thank you all of those that joined in. Especially the number of new entrants. Also thanks to those that visited to see the display and take the opportunity for an afternoon tea.
